gene capture technology

Summary

Gene-trap (gene-trap) mutagenesis is a technique for randomly generating loss-of-function mutations and reporting gene expression, as well as capturing genes of interest. It is specifically designed as a tool for discovering genes that can be captured regardless of whether they are transcriptionally active or not. Gene capture is important in vertebrate development and cell biology because of its ease of identification, cloning, and gene mutation. Several large-scale gene capture screening programs have been conducted using a variety of novel vectors to generate public repositories of mutant ES cells.
