Move

(1) Measurement of arterial blood pressure in the common carotid artery: Take rats weighing about 200~250g and anesthetize them with 20% urethane injection 0.5ml/100g or 1.5% pentobarbital sodium injection 0.2ml/100g by intraperitoneal injection. After the animals are anesthetized, they are fixed on an experimental table, and the common carotid artery is separated (see the basic surgical operation in section VII of this chapter) by separating the common carotid artery on one side for about 2cm. The common carotid artery on one side was separated from the other by about 2 cm. before cannulation, the catheter and pressure transducer were filled with 0.3% heparin saline injection, air bubbles were drained away, and the recording instrument was prepared. Then the distal end of the common carotid artery was ligated first, and the proximal end was clamped with an arterial clip, and the arterial wall at the distal ligature was cut with ophthalmic scissors at an angle of 45°, and the prepared common carotid artery cannula was inserted into the proximal end for about 1 cm, and the arterial vessels and catheters were ligated with a thread at the proximal end, and the catheter was fed into the artery for about 1 cm by releasing the arterial clip, so that the arterial waveforms of the blood pressure could be seen, and then the blood pressure waveforms of the arteries could be seen with the ligature thread at the distal end. Fix the cannula, wait for the animal to stabilize for about 5min, then you can start the experimental content.(2) Measurement of arterial blood pressure in the femoral artery: Take rats weighing about 200 to 250 g, anesthetize them with 20% urethane injection 0.5 ml/100 g or 1.5% pentobarbital sodium injection 0.2 ml/100 g, intraperitoneally, and when the animals are anesthetized, (see Section VII of this chapter for basic surgical operations) isolate them for about 1 cm or so. Similarly before cannulation the arterial cannula and pressure transducer are filled with 0.3% heparin saline injection, air bubbles are drained away, and recording instruments are prepared. The femoral artery was then first ligated distally and proximally clamped with an arterial clip, or the vessel was gently lifted with a proximal thread to block blood flow. Ligate the arterial wall at the distal end with ophthalmic scissors at an angle of 45°, insert the prepared arterial cannula into the proximal end of the artery for about 0.5 cm, release the arterial clip, or release the lifting wire at the proximal end, and feed the cannula into the artery for about 1 cm or so, and ligate the arterial vessels and cannula with the threading wire at the proximal end, so that you can see the waveforms of the femoral artery's blood pressure, and then use the ligation wire at the distal end of the arterial cannula to secure it and wait for the animal to stabilize for about 5 min, then you can start the recording instrument. 5min or so, you can start the experimental content.

Caveat

Because of the thin wall of the vein, it must be separated carefully and gently, bluntly with a glass parting needle, and the fascial tissue on the wall must be separated cleanly. When you cut the socket in the wall of the vein, the previously filled vein will immediately collapse and flatten, and the catheter can be easily inserted by lifting up the cut with a small ophthalmic forceps or a small pull hook curved with a needle when inserting the catheter.

Common Problems

There are three indicators of changes in arterial blood pressure: systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), and mean blood pressure (MBP).
