Blood can be taken from the retro-ocular venous plexus. The blood can be obtained by using the 7 gauge needle connected to a 1ml syringe or 10ml Long glass tube (one end fired and drawn to a diameter of 1 ~1.5mm in diameter 1.5mm (one end was burned and pulled into a capillary tube with a diameter of 1~1.5mm). When taking blood, the left hand grasps the skin between the two ears of the mouse to fix the head, gently presses the sides of the neck to impede venous return to the head, so that the eyeballs protrude sufficiently, and the venous plexus behind the ball is congested. Holding the syringe or glass tube in the right hand, insert it into the inner canthus and rotate it toward the fundus. Insertion depth: for mice 2 ~ 3mm In rats, the depth of insertion is 4mm for rats ~4 to 3mm for rats 5mm The blood flows into the tube on its own due to blood pressure. Due to blood pressure, blood flows into the tube by itself, pull out the needle or glass tube, and relax the left hand. To prevent bleeding from the puncture hole, gauze can be used to compress the eyeball to stop bleeding. Blood can be collected repeatedly from the same puncture hole after a few minutes. Mice can collect blood at one time 0.2ml Rat 0.5ml for mice and 0.5ml for rats.
