Materials and Instruments

Solutions to be sterilized
Plastic syringes Syringe-type filters Receiving containers

Move

1. Scrub the hood and packing materials.

2. Fill syringe with solution to be sterilized.

3 . Open the lid of the collection container.

4 . Open the packaging of the filter and connect it to the tip of the syringe, using the lower half of the packaging to assimilate the sterilized filter when connecting.

5. Drain the solution through the filter into the collection container, using only gentle pressure.

6 . Close the collection container.

7. Discard the syringe and filter.

Caveat

The syringe can be repeatedly filled with solution several times. When filling, place the filter back into the lower half of the sterile package, separate it from the syringe, fill the syringe again, and attach it to the filter. If the rebound pressure increases, the filter should be replaced with a new one.
