Malarial pigment, morphologically similar to formalin pigment, is a brown or brown-black deposit produced within or near red blood cells containing malaria parasites. This pigment can sometimes deposit in such large quantities that it obscures the observation of the parasites. Similar to formalin pigment, malarial pigment is birefringent and can be removed by an alcohol-saturated picric acid solution, although the process typically requires a longer duration. Compared to other methods, the Aladdin Malarial Pigment Removal Solution causes less damage to tissue and results in less pigment deposition. This reagent is for research use only and is not suitable for clinical diagnosis or other purposes.
Procedure (For Reference Only)
Place the section into 70% ethanol.
Treat with the Malarial Pigment Removal Solution for 15 to 30 minutes (see Note 1).
Rinse thoroughly with distilled water and proceed with downstream staining.
Precautions
The removal time varies depending on the amount of malarial pigment present. Removal of malarial pigment requires at least 15 minutes or longer.

After opening the reagent, please use it as soon as possible to prevent affecting subsequent experimental results.
