1. Methacrylated Chondroitin Sulfate (CSMA) is a photocurable biomaterial;
2. CSMA can be cured with a light initiator under blue or UV light;
3. The stiffness of CSMA hydrogel is related to the concentration. The higher the concentration is, the harder the stiffness is after curing;
4. CSMA has good biocompatibility, it can be mixed with cells for 3D bioprinting.
Quality Control:
Each batch of CSMA was tested by 1H NMR, HPLC and cytology to confirm its chemical structure, degree of methacrylation 40~50%, and non-cytotoxity; when mixed with LAP, it can be rapidly cured under the blue light.
Recommended procedure:
1. Dissolve CSMA in medium to create the 5%-10% solution; filtrate it with 0.22 µm filter;
2. Mix the CSMA solution with LAP and cells, load mixture into the cartridge of the blue light 3D bio-printer;
3. Start 3D printing and blue-light solidification.
