Descripción general

la metil-β-ciclodextrina(MβCD) es un compuesto macrocíclico que puede formar complejos de inclusión con diversas moléculas huéspedes. Presenta mayor solubilidad en soluciones acuosas y mayor poder solubilizante y complejante que la β-ciclodextrina madre. MβCD puede utilizarse para mejorar la actividad enzimática y la enantioselectividad de la enzima subtilizante en disolventes orgánicos.

Aplicación:
La metil-β-ciclodextrina es un agente eliminador de colesterol que se utiliza principalmente para la disrupción de balsas lipídicas[4]. También se puede utilizar para la eliminación de detergentes de la mezcla ternaria proteína-lípido-detergente para producir cristales de proteínas de membrana 2D debido a su alta solubilidad y afinidad por los detergentes generalmente utilizados en la química de proteínas de membrana.
La metil-β-ciclodextrina puede utilizarse como:
Un aditivo tampón para la separación eficaz de aminofosfolípidos mediante cromatografía capilar electrocinética micelar modificada (MEKC) acoplada con detección por fluorescencia inducida por láser.
Un aditivo de fase móvil para el análisis de mezclas de R,S-naproxeno en formulaciones de comprimidos comerciales mediante cromatografía convencional y nano-líquida (nano-LC).
Un estándar analítico para la determinación del analito en muestras biológicas mediante cromatografía líquida de alta resolución (HPLC).
Un selector quiral para la resolución de enantiómeros de repaglinida en formulaciones farmacéuticas mediante electroforesis capilar.
