Synthesis of poly (N, N-dimethylacrylamide) (PDMAA) nanoparticles for biomedical and drug delivery applications.
As a copolymer monomer, it is used to synthesize thermally responsive polymers for use in smart coatings, adhesives, and sensors.
As a reactive diluent in the manufacturing of UV curable coatings and inks.
Together with polyethylene glycol dimethacrylate (PEGDMA) and chitosan derivatives, it is used as a comonomer to develop injectable hydrogels and can be used as a matrix for bone tissue engineering.
A series of DMMA based hydrogels are used to remove heavy metals and organic dyes from polluted water. Due to electrostatic effect and hydrogen bonding in the main chain of DMMA, these hydrogels have high efficiency in removing cationic dyes.
