Nonactina de Streptomyces Griseus: una mezcla de los dos antibióticos macrotetrolidos homólogos: Nonactin, Monactin. La Nonactina no es inferior al 80%, equilibrada únicamente por la Monactina. La mezcla no contiene Dinactin, Trinactin, Tetranactin. Nonactin tiene efectos inhibidores sobre el eflujo de agentes quimioterapéuticos mediado por la glicoproteína P170 en células cancerosas resistentes a múltiples fármacos. Nonactin, una mezcla natural de macrotetrolidos, se utilizó en la agricultura bajo el nombre comercial POLYNACTIN. Se ha informado de que la nonactina inhibe específicamente el procesamiento de proteínas precursoras citoplasmáticas destinadas a la mitocondria.
