aplicación:

El perfluoro(metilciclohexano) puede utilizarse como:

- Un reactivo para sintetizar perfluoro-2-metilciclohex-1-enolato mediante reacción fotoquímica con yoduro de tetrabutilamonio en agua.

- Disolvente fluorado para sintetizar polinorborneno mediante polimerización por metátesis de apertura en anillo (ROMP) de norborneno utilizando catalizador fluorado Grubbs′ de segunda generación.

También puede utilizarse como disolvente para investigar la fluorofilia de una serie de ésteres de ácido nicotínico funcionalizados con hidrocarburos y fluorocarburos.
