RR-SRC is a tyrosine kinase substrate. RR-SRC has commonly been used to ascertain the activity of tyrosine kinases by measuring the phosphorylation of RR-SRC in both plant and animal cells. The substrate has also been used to monitor the purification of the insulin receptor, a protein tyrosine kinase. Tyrosine phosphorylation of RR-SRC is stimulated|in vitro|by EGF (epidermal growth factor).
