El etoxido de tántalo(V) Ta(OC2H5)5 es un alcóxido de tántalo que puede utilizarse como precursor en la preparación de óxido de tántalo mediante deposición química en fase vapor (CVD). Tiene una excelente volatilidad y estabilidad térmica. Puede sintetizarse por oxidación anódica de placa de tántalo en etanol anhidro.
Ta(OC2H5)5 puede utilizarse en la formación de condensadores ultrafinos basados en óxido de tántalo. También puede utilizarse como precursor líquido en la preparación de nanopolvo de carburo de tántalo para recubrimientos duros sobre superficies metálicas.
