Descripción general

La tapsigargina es una lactona sesquiterpénica permeable a las células que se encuentra en las raíces de Thapsia garganica. Es un promotor tumoral e induce la liberación de Ca2+ almacenado intracelularmente sin hidrólisis de inositolfosfolípidos mediante la inhibición de la Ca2+-ATPasa del retículo sarco/endoplásmico (SERCA; IC50=30 nM). Se puede utilizar para distinguir entre distintos depósitos intracelulares de Ca2+. La promoción tumoral inducida por laapsigargina y la regulación a la baja del receptor del EGF son independientes de la activación de la proteína cinasa C.
Inductor de la liberación de Ca2+ almacenado.
