Descripción general

Thiol-terminated methoxy polyethylene glycol (mPEG-SH) is a monofunctional PEG derivative for the modification of proteins, peptides and other biomaterials. The thiol group exhibits strong affinity toward gold substrates, so mPEG-SH is extensively utilized to functionalize gold nanoparticles and gold thin films. PEGylation improves the aqueous solubility and structural stability of peptides and proteins while lowering their immunogenicity. In addition, it inhibits non-specific adsorption of charged molecules onto PEG-modified surfaces.
