Descripción general

La trombina es una serina proteasa alostérica activada por Na+. Pertenece a la familia de las quimotripsinas. La trombina está formada por dos cadenas polipeptídicas de 36 (cadena A) y 259 (cadena B) residuos que están unidas covalentemente por un enlace disulfuro.
La trombina es un factor IIa de la coagulación. Es una endopeptidasa de serina que hidroliza enlaces peptídicos y ésteres específicamente en el lado carboxílico de Arg. La enzima convierte el fibrinógeno en fibrina. El producto contiene EDTA y agentes estabilizadores adicionales.
Aplicación:
La trombina se ha utilizado en la expresión y purificación de RELM recombinante (resistin-like moleculefamily members. También se ha utilizado en la propagación de plaquetas sobre fibrinógeno y la inmunotinción.
La trombina se utiliza en la investigación de la coagulación, la investigación médica, el análisis de la estructura de las proteínas y la investigación bioquímica. Se ha utilizado para la estimulación de las plaquetas.
