UK 383367 es un nuevo inhibidor de la proteína C del procolágeno (PCP) que se está investigando para el tratamiento de las cicatrices dérmicas posquirúrgicas, que inhibe potentemente la actividad de la PCP con un valor de la concentración de inhibición del 50% IC50 de 44 nM, así como un inhibidor selectivo de las metaloproteinasas de matriz (MMP) con valores de IC50 >60.000 nM para la MMP-2 y >10.000 nM para la MMP-1, MMP-3, MMP-9 y MMP-4. Aunque el mecanismo aún no está claro, UK 383367 también exhibe débiles efectos inhibidores contra la enzima fosfodiesterasa-4 (PDE-4), incluyendo PDE-4a, PDE-4b, PDE-4c y PDE-4d, con valores de IC50 de 1,8 μM, 1,5 μM, 2,4 μM y 0,9 μM respectivamente.
