VP 14637 inhibits human respiratory syncytial virus (HRSV) a major respiratory viral pathogen causing moderate to severe upper and lower respiratory tract infections in all ages and across a wide range of patient populations. VP-14637 inhibits respiratory syncytial virus fusion by binding into a small hydrophobic cavity in the inner core of F protein, interacting simultaneously with both the HR1 and HR2 domains.
