Diphenylcyclopropenone induces an increase of cell-surface thiols in cells of a human monocytic cell line, THP-1. Diphenylcyclopropenone acts on the autoreactive T-lymphocytes within the follicular milieu to induce Apoptosis . Diphenylcyclopropenone can be used for alopecia areata research .
