The appearance is white or quasi white powder, odorless and tasteless. It is dispersed in water as an insoluble colloid. Sodium carboxymethylcellulose plays a role in dispersing and protecting colloids. Insoluble in water, ethanol, acetone, toluene, dilute acid or 5% sodium hydroxide solution. Its aqueous solution has stable dispersibility and no association between molecules. It can form a hydrated network structure in a predetermined space. The solution will not be layered and precipitated after being placed for a long time.
