The strained BCN alkyne reacts with azides through copper-free strain-promoted azide–alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC), while the terminal bromide can undergo nucleophilic substitution, providing an additional functional handle for further conjugation. The PEG spacer contributes hydrophilicity and separates the two functional termini. This linker can be used in click chemistry and bioconjugation for the functionalization of biomolecules and related molecular constructs.
