Frogs have several subcutaneous lymphatic sacs, which are the common route of drug delivery in frogs. When injecting, the drug should be injected from the bottom of the mouth into the muscle layer, and then into the subcutaneous lymphatic sac of the thorax to make the drug less likely to flow out after the needle is withdrawn (Fig. 1).
