Overview

FFN511 is a potent fluorescent false neurotransmitters (FFNs) that targets neuronal vesicular monoamine transporter 2 (VMA T2). FFN511 inhibits serotonin binding to VMA T2-containing membranes with an IC50 of 1 µM. FFN511 directly images the dynamics of release during exocytosis, can be used to label dopamine terminals in live cortical-striatalacute slices。

Wherever possible, you should prepare and use solutions on the same day. However, if you need to make up stock solutions in advance, we recommend that you store the solution as aliquots in tightly sealed vials at -20°C. Generally, these will be useable for up to one month. Before use, and prior to opening the vial we recommend that you allow your product to equilibrate to room temperature for at least 1 hour. To make a 10 μM solution for slice incubation, 25 μl of a 20 mM FFN511 stock solution in DMSO is added to 50 ml of ACSF. This results in a 10 μM FFN511 solution in ACSF containing 0.05% DMSO.
