Descripción general
Aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH, EC 1.2.1.10) is a type of aldehyde dehydrogenase widely present in various animals, plants, and microorganisms. Its primary function is to oxidize acetaldehyde into acetic acid, playing a key role in alcohol metabolism.
Our company provides a simple, rapid, and reliable method for quantitatively measuring ALDH enzyme activity. In this assay, acetaldehyde is oxidized by ALDH to generate NADH, which then reduces a colorless probe into a colored product. The strong absorbance of this product at 450 nm allows for the determination of aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH) enzyme activity.
