Descripción general

Insulin promotes the uptake of glucose and amino acids, lipogenesis, intracellular transport, and the synthesis of proteins and nucleic acids. Transferrin is an iron carrier and also helps reduce the toxic levels of oxygen free radicals and peroxides. Selenium (supplied in the form of sodium selenite) acts as a cofactor for glutathione peroxidase and other proteins, and serves as an antioxidant in culture media. Sodium pyruvate is a precursor of amino acids, fatty acids and cholesterol, and is an important intermediate in many biosynthetic pathways. This product is intended for scientific research and production use, and is applied to the in vitro culture of tissues and cells.

Method of Use
Add to the culture medium at a final concentration of 1% (v/v).

Application
Insulin-Transferrin-Selenium-Sodium Pyruvate (ITS-A) is used as a basal medium supplement to reduce the dosage of fetal bovine serum (FBS) for cell culture. ITS-A solution is generally used in combination with 2–4% FBS.

Precautions
1. Thaw the product overnight at 4℃ before use.
2. Mix the product thoroughly before addition.
3. Strictly perform aseptic operation during use to avoid contamination.
4. Use the product within the shelf life; discard it once expired.
