LB Agar is a growth media for the cultivation of a wide variety of microorganisms.
Used for general bacterial culture, especially for the preservation and culture of Escherichia coli in molecular biology experiments.
Testing principle
Peptone and yeast extract powder provide nitrogen sources, vitamins, and growth factors; sodium chloride maintains a balanced osmotic pressure; glucose provides a carbon source; and agar is the coagulant for the culture medium.
