Descripción general

Minocycline is a semi-synthetic tetracycline antibiotic that crosses the blood-brain barrier. Minocycline is an inhibitor of hypoxia-inducing factor (HIF-1α). Minocycline has anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory and glutamate antagonism. Minocycline reduces glutamate neurotransmission, showing neuroprotective properties and antidepressant effects. Minocycline inhibits the synthesis of bacterial proteins by binding with the 30S subunit of bacterial ribosomes, thus producing bacteriostatic effect
