Mycoplasma Elimination Reagent is designed to inhibit and eradicate prevalent mycoplasma contamination in cell culture, and can eliminate existing mycoplasma contamination in cells. This reagent effectively suppresses and removes multiple mycoplasma species, including Mycoplasma orale, M. arginini, M. hyorhinis and Acholeplasma laidlawii. The reagent contains two bactericidal components: macrolide and quinolone antibiotics. It targets the protein synthesis and DNA replication stages of mycoplasma replication. Mycoplasma contamination can be eliminated within only two weeks, with minimal impacts on cellular metabolism. The reagent works efficiently against both intracellular mycoplasma and extracellular free mycoplasma. It also exhibits certain eliminating effects on a variety of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. The effective concentration for mycoplasma eradication ranges from 12.5–37.5 μg/mL, with a typical working concentration of 25 μg/mL. The exact working concentration varies depending on mycoplasma species. Appropriate working concentrations should be optimized empirically for practical mycoplasma decontamination procedures.

Instructions for Use:

This product has been sterile-filtered and ready for direct use. Dilute it at an appropriate ratio according to experimental requirements; a 100-fold dilution is commonly adopted.

Precautions:

1. This product is for research use only. It shall not be used for clinical treatment, food or pharmaceutical applications, and must not be stored in residential premises.

2. Wear a lab coat and disposable gloves during operation for personal safety and health protection.

3. Although this reagent can inhibit or eliminate many mycoplasma species, it cannot guarantee efficacy against all mycoplasma strains encountered in practical experiments. In addition, long-term use may lead to the development of mycoplasma resistance.
