Transferrin less the iron molecule. Like transferrin, apotransferrin has a physiological role in the transportation and distribution of iron among the body organs. It is also an important transport factor used in defined culture media. Purified to have less than 0.01% iron and an iron-binding capacity of 1.25 μg/mg.
Apotransferrin is an important transport factor used in defined culture media.
This product is produced in our ISO 9001:2015 certified laboratory to a purity greater than 98% by SDS PAGE and an iron content less than 30 μg/gram.
Heat-treated at 60ºC for 10 hours, the apotransferrin is lyophilized after having been filtered using a 0.1 micron filter. Readily soluble at 1% in water, the product has an endotoxin level less than 1 EU/mg by LAL testing, a bioburden of less than 10 CFU/mg and no mycoplasma contamination.
Purifies apotransferrin from plasma that has been tested by FDA approved methods and found negative at the donor level for HIV 1&2 antibodies, Hepatitis B surface antigen, Hepatitis C antibodies, HAV (NAT), HBV (NAT), HCV (NAT) HIV (NAT) parvovirus B19 (NAT) and Syphillis.
