Aryl-acylamidase (EC 3.5.1.3) is widely distributed in animals, plants, and microorganisms. It hydrolyzes compounds containing amide groups and is one of the important hydrolases involved in the metabolism of pesticides and other xenobiotics in organisms.
This kit uses aryl-acylamidase to hydrolyze a substrate, producing p-nitroaniline, which has a maximum absorption peak at 405 nm. The enzyme activity is determined by measuring the rate of increase of the produced p-nitroaniline at 405 nm.
