Most scattered solid lesions were seen on the surface of the lung and on the section, with different shapes and sizes, grayish-yellow color, unclear boundaries, some of the lesions were fused in the form of a sheet, and the lesions were slightly elevated on the section, and there was purulent secretion.

Tissue section

(1) The lesion was centered on the fine bronchial tubes and was focally distributed. The bronchial wall was congested and edematous, infiltrated by a large number of neutrophilic leukocytes and a small number of mononuclear cells, the epithelial cells were partially degenerated and necrotic, and the lumen was filled with a large amount of inflammatory exudate.

(2) A large amount of the above inflammatory exudate was also seen in the alveolar lumen surrounding the fine bronchioles, and some of the lesions fused with each other to form abscesses.

Common Problems

Diagnostic Points:

1. The lesions are focally distributed in the lobules of the lungs.

2. the lesions of fine bronchioles and surrounding lung tissues are septic.
