FeTMPyP is a synthetic porhyrin that has the ability to catalytically break down superoxide radicals, as well as catalyze the isomerization of peroxynitrite (PN) to nitrate. The compound can protect cells from PN-mediated injury and can prevent lipid peroxidation.
