L‑Malic acid is an important intermediate in the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle and is present in all living organisms. This kit provides a rapid and sensitive method for the determination of malic acid. It utilizes malate dehydrogenase to catalyze the oxidation of malic acid, while the generated NADH subsequently reacts with a chromogenic agent to form a colored product. The malic acid content is determined by measuring the amount of this colored product at 450 nm.
