  Neisser Staining Solution is a classic staining reagent for metachromatic granules in microbiology, used for bacterial staining.

Protocol (For Reference Only):

1. After fixing the smear by routine method, add several drops of Neisser Stain A onto the smear, stain for 15–30 seconds, then wash with water.

2. Counterstain with Neisser Stain B for 10–30 seconds.

3. Wash rapidly with water, blot dry, and examine microscopically.

Staining Results:

Bacterial cells appear bright yellow, and metachromatic granules appear deep violet-blue.

1. It is recommended to perform a preliminary experiment on 1–2 samples when using this reagent for the first time.
