Overview
Protein S exists in two forms in human plasma, as the free protein and in complex with C4b-binding protein. Enzyme Research Laboratories offers the free protein from plasma which serves as a cofactor for the anticoagulant activity of activated protein C. Human protein S is a single-chain glycoprotein with a molecular weight of 69,000. The Human Protein S (free form) purity is greater than 95% as judged by SDS-PAGE.
The above protein was purified from Human plasma units that test negative for antibodies to HBc, HCV, HIV 1/2, HTLV-I/II, and non reactive for HBsAg, HIV-1 RNA, HCV RNA, HBV DNA and Syphilis by FDA approved tests. Donors are screened for CJD.
