Q-Dextran ist ein polykationisches Derivat von Dextran. Diese Derivate unterscheiden sich von DEAE-Dextranen dadurch, dass sie nur quaternäre Amingruppen enthalten. Im Gegensatz zu DEAE-Dextranen sind Q-Dextrane in einem breiten pH-Bereich (pH 4-10) geladen. Q-Dextrane haben auch eine viel stärkere Nettoladung als entsprechende DEAE-Dextrane. Alle Chargen werden auf Molekulargewicht, Substitutionsgrad und Trocknungsverlust geprüft. Aladdin stellt Q-Dextran von 4 kDa bis 150 kDa her. Q-Dextrane werden als weißes Pulver geliefert.
Struktur
Q-Dextrane werden durch Reaktion von Dextranfraktionen mit 2,3-Epoxypropyltrimethylammoniumchlorid synthetisiert. Der Stickstoffgehalt beträgt ca. 2 %, was einer quaternären Ammoniumgruppe pro vier Glukoseeinheiten entspricht.
Anwendung
Polykationische Produkte zeigen eine Vielzahl von Wirkungen in zellulären Systemen und sind als Adjuvantien in Impfstoffen von Interesse. Q-Dextran hat eine viel stärkere Nettoladung als entsprechende DEAE-Dextrane und wird daher in Systemen, in denen dieser Effekt wichtig ist, verstärkte Reaktionen hervorrufen.
