Overview

It is a mixture of calcium hydroxide and sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide. Calcium oxide often contains 5% -18% water. Type A of sodium lime appears red, gradually fading after absorbing carbon dioxide. Type B of sodium lime appears white, gradually turning purple after absorbing carbon dioxide. The absorption of carbon dioxide is 25% -35%. Partially dissolved in water, completely dissolved in strong acid.
