RNA sources are diverse, and various extraction and preparation methods have been established. Commonly used methods include the phenol method (i.e., the Trizol method), detergent‑based methods, and the guanidinium hydrochloride method, among which the Trizol method is the most widely used. Trizol reagent contains phenol, guanidinium thiocyanate, and other components that rapidly lyse cells or tissues and inactivate nucleases (RNases), thereby preserving RNA integrity. In industrial settings, dilute alkali and concentrated salt methods are commonly employed for RNA extraction. Both of these approaches yield denatured nucleic acids and are primarily used for the production of nucleotide raw materials, with relatively simple procedures. This product employs a low‑concentration alkaline solution to disrupt yeast cells, followed by neutralization with acid. After removal of proteins and cell debris, the RNA in the supernatant is collected via ethanol precipitation or by adjusting the pH to 2.5 to precipitate it at its isoelectric point. Yeast cells contain 2.5%–10% RNA but only 0.03%–0.5% DNA, making yeast a commonly used raw material for RNA extraction. This reagent is intended for research use only and is not suitable for clinical diagnosis or other applications.
