Tris-Borate-EDTA Buffer (TBE) is a commonly used nucleic acid electrophoresis buffer. The composition of 0.5× TBE working solution is: 45 mM Tris-borate, 1 mM EDTA (pH 8.0), with moderate buffering capacity, suitable for separating small DNA fragments (<2000 bp). The 0.5–1× TBE working solution offers stronger buffering capacity and can be selected according to experimental requirements.
TBE Buffer (5×, RNase Free) is a 5-fold concentrated solution prepared with DEPC-treated water. It primarily contains 450 mM Tris-borate and 10 mM EDTA. It is mainly used for RNA electrophoresis. Before use, dilute to a 0.5× working solution with DEPC-treated water.
This reagent is for research use only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures or other purposes.
Procedure (For Reference Only)
Dilute the product to a 0.5× working solution with DEPC-treated water before use.
Notes
10× TBE stock solution has poor stability and is prone to precipitation. The 5× TBE concentrated solution is recommended for more stable storage.
Routinely use 0.5× TBE as the working solution. For applications requiring stronger buffering capacity, 0.5–1× TBE working solution can be used.
Strictly avoid RNase contamination throughout the entire experimental procedure.
Please wear laboratory appropriate attire and disposable gloves during operation to ensure experimental safety.
Use the reagent as soon as possible after opening and keep it sealed to avoid affecting experimental results.
