Übersicht

Activated carbon was initially used as an absorbent to remove toxic substances from plants. When used in the culture medium, it will appear dark. It can induce the absorption of phenols, cell lysis products, ethylene, methane and many other compounds known to be harmful to plant tissues. In addition, activated carbon can also absorb growth regulators and other components of the culture medium. In tissue culture of orchids, carrots and tomatoes, activated carbon can induce growth and differentiation.
