Overview

Conversion of soluble fibrinogen to the insoluble fibrin is the final step in the blood coagulation cascade. Aladdin offers three types of purified fibrinogen prepared by a combination of salt precipitation, affinity chromatography and immunoaffinity chromatography methods to suit the individual researcher’s needs. All three forms are >95% clottable (by functional assays) and purity is >95% by SDS-PAGE. Fibrinogen, Plasminogen Depleted Fibrinogen, Plasminogen and vWF depleted Plasminogen, von Willebrand Factor and Fibronectin Depleted Extinction Coefficient (1%) = 15.1 Molecular Weight = 330,000 daltons The Human Fibrinogen is homogeneous as judged on a 4-20% gradient gel and is greater than 95% clottable. The plasminogen was depleted using affinity chromatography. Protein must be thawed in a 37℃ water bath, then aliquot and freeze the unused portion at -80℃. The above protein was purified from Human plasma units that test negative for antibodies to HBc, HCV, HIV 1/2, HTLV-I/II, and non reactive for HBsAg, HIV-1 RNA, HCV RNA, HBV DNA and Syphilis by FDA approved tests. Donors are screened for CJD. Fibrinogen MUST be thawed in a 37℃ water bath. Once thawed, do not chill. Remaining protein may be aliquoted into single use size and frozen at -80℃.
