Overview
This kit employs the GOD-POD coupled colorimetric method for the determination of lactose content. Lactose is hydrolyzed by β-galactosidase to generate glucose, which then reacts with a chromogenic reagent under the catalysis of GOD-POD to form a pink product with a maximum absorption peak at 510 nm. By using the difference method (total sugar after hydrolysis minus the pre-existing free glucose in the sample) to correct the background, the lactose content can be quantitatively calculated.
