Overview
The activity of soil dehydrogenase (S-DHA) can reflect the active microbial biomass within the soil system and its degradative activity towards organic matter, serving as an indicator of the soil microbial degradation capacity. This kit is suitable for detecting soil samples. The hydrogen acceptor, 2,3,5-Triphenyl Tetrazolium Chloride (TTC), accepts hydrogen during cellular respiration. Its reduction product, Triphenyl Formazone (TPF), exhibits a red color with a maximum absorption peak at a wavelength of 485 nm. The soil dehydrogenase activity is determined by measuring its absorbance at 485 nm using spectrophotometry.
