Overview

3-Methoxy-3-methyl-1-butanol is widely used as a solvent in paints, inks, and fragrances. The kinetics of the reaction between 3-methoxy-3-methyl-1-butanol and OH radicals have been reported using a relative rate method. It has been identified as an oxidation product of dyes such as methyl yellow, methyl red, and methyl orange. 

Application 

3-Methoxy-3-methyl-1-butanol can be used as a raw material in the production of industrial detergents.
