Overview

Acid phosphatase (ACP) is an enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of phosphate monoesters to inorganic phosphate under acidic conditions. It is commonly found in the lysosomes of macrophages and is clinically used as an auxiliary diagnostic marker for prostate cancer. The assay principle of this kit is as follows: in an acidic environment, ACP catalyzes the hydrolysis of disodium p‑nitrophenyl phosphate to generate 4‑nitrophenol, which exhibits a characteristic absorption peak at 405 nm. By measuring the rate of increase in absorbance at 405 nm, the enzymatic activity of ACP can be calculated.
