Overview
This kit employs a potassium‑dependent pyruvate kinase (PK)‑catalyzed enzyme kinetic reaction for the determination of potassium. The reaction product, pyruvate, is subsequently acted upon by lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), resulting in the oxidation of NADH to NAD⁺ and a concomitant decrease in absorbance at 340 nm. The rate of this decrease is directly proportional to the potassium concentration.
