Overview

Common methods for preparing genomic DNA from plant tissues include cesium chloride density gradient centrifugation and CTAB extraction. Among them, the CTAB extraction method is a classic and rapid protocol for plant DNA isolation, applicable to a wide variety of plant samples. It yields relatively high amounts of DNA, though with moderate purity, which is sufficient for most molecular biology applications. This product is a simple and rapid kit for the extraction of plant nuclear DNA. The procedure involves: first, grinding fresh plant samples to disrupt cell walls; then, isolating nuclei by differential centrifugation and lysing them; finally, extracting nuclear DNA using a CTAB extraction buffer. This method provides a large preparation yield. The obtained DNA can be further purified or used directly in downstream applications such as genetic transformation. This reagent is intended for research use only and is not suitable for clinical diagnosis or other applications.
