Overview
This method is based on the creatine kinase (CK)-catalyzed reaction of ATP with creatine to generate phosphocreatine and ADP. The generated phosphocreatine reacts with phosphomolybdic acid reagent under acidic conditions. Wavelength scanning confirms that the product exhibits maximum absorbance at 700 nm. By measuring the absorbance at this wavelength, the ATP content in the sample can be indirectly calculated.
