Product Introduction
Routine Glycerol Mounting Medium is a general-purpose mounting agent that can also be used to mitigate fluorescence quenching. It is mainly composed of glycerol. Its performance in reducing fluorescence quenching is inferior to that of Antifade Mounting Medium. Based on the dosage of 50–100 μl per sample, 5 ml of the medium can be used for mounting at least 50 samples. This reagent is intended for research use only and not for clinical diagnosis or other purposes.
Materials to Be Prepared by Users
Glass slides, coverslips, fluorescence microscope
Operating Procedures (For Reference Only)
1. Adherent cell samples
① After staining, aspirate the staining solution.
② Place 1 drop of Routine Glycerol Mounting Medium onto the glass slide, then cover it with the coverslip with adherent cells attached, ensuring the cells come into contact with the mounting medium and minimizing air bubbles as much as possible.
③ Observe under a microscope.
2. Tissue sections
① After staining, aspirate the staining solution.
② Place 1 drop of Routine Glycerol Mounting Medium onto the tissue section, then cover it with a coverslip, ensuring the section is in contact with the mounting medium and avoiding air bubbles as much as possible.
③ Observe the tissue section under a microscope.
3. Other samples
For other samples, follow the procedures for cell samples or tissue sections.
Precautions
1. All fluorescent substances are prone to quenching; stained samples should be stored away from light.
2. Although Routine Glycerol Mounting Medium can reduce quenching, samples mounted with it should still be protected from light as much as possible.
3. For your safety and health, wear a lab coat and disposable gloves during operation.
4. Use the reagent as soon as possible after opening to avoid compromising subsequent experimental results.
