Overview
Dehydrogenase (DHA) refers to a class of enzymes that catalyze redox reactions. This kit adopts a colorimetric method based on modified water-soluble tetrazolium salt to determine dehydrogenase activity. Compared with the traditional TTC method, which generates water-insoluble formazan, involves cumbersome operations and suffers from low sensitivity, the reduced orange-yellow formazan product produced by this method is readily soluble in water and has a characteristic absorption peak at 460 nm. The dehydrogenase activity in samples can be rapidly quantified by measuring the absorbance at this wavelength, as absorbance is positively proportional to dehydrogenase activity.
