GRADE & PURITYBioReagent?BioReagent grade — tested suitable for life-science and molecular-biology use. Use for cell culture, assays, and biochemical work needing biological compatibility.Native?Native grade — protein/biomolecule in its natural (non-recombinant, non-denatured) form. Use when native structure and activity are required.Low Endotoxin?Low-endotoxin grade — endotoxin reduced to low controlled levels. Use in sensitive biological work where high endotoxin would interfere.Tissue Culture Grade?Tissue-culture grade — tested for low endotoxin/cytotoxicity to support cell growth. Use in cell and tissue culture where biocompatibility is essential.PBS Only?PBS-only formulation — supplied in phosphate-buffered saline with no other additives. Use when you need a clean PBS buffer free of stabilizers/carriers.≥95%(SDS-PAGE)Iron Content: <30μg/g; Pre-lyophilization Protein Concentration: See COA

Overview
Transferrin less the iron molecule. Like transferrin, apotransferrin has a physiological role in the transportation and distribution of iron among the body organs. It is also an important transport factor used in defined culture media. Purified to have less than 0.01% iron and an iron-binding capacity of 1.25 μg/mg. Dissolves in water at 10 mg per ml.
Prepared from plasma shown to be non reactive for HBsAg, anti-HCV, anti-HBc, and negative for anti-HIV 1 & 2 by FDA approved tests.
Specifications
Product Name
Transferrin (APO) from Human Plasma, CAS No.11096-37-0
BioReagent, Native, Low Endotoxin, Tissue Culture Grade, PBS Only, ≥95%(SDS-PAGE), Iron Content: <30μg/g; Pre-lyophilization Protein Concentration: See COA
Biochemical and Physiological Mechanisms
Transferrins are iron binding transport proteins which can bind two Fe3+ ions in association with the binding of an anion, usually bicarbonate. It is responsible for the transport of iron from sites of absorption and heme degradation to those of storage a
Lyophilized from sterile 10 mM phosphate buffer, pH 7.4.
Concentration
Iron Content: <30μg/g; Pre-lyophilization Protein Concentration: See COA
Reconstitution
After centrifugation, we suggest addition of de-ionized H2O to the original volume (See COA), followed by gentle mixingto ensure adequate homogenization. If further dilution is required, please use the lyophilization buffer.
Storage
Store at -20°C,Avoid repeated freezing and thawing
Shipped In
Ice chest + Ice pads
Stability And Storage
Store at -20℃ long term (>1 year). Upon reconstitution, it is recommended to aliquot. Avoid freeze/thaw cycle.

Transferrin (APO) from Human Plasma (np001126) - SDS-PAGE
2 μg/lane of Transferrin (APO) from Human Plasma was resolved with SDS-PAGE under reducing (R) and non-reducing (N) conditions and visualized by Coomassie® Blue staining, showing the band at 75 kDa under reducing condition and 64 kDa under non-reducing condition.
